Numerical Simulation of Thermo-Hydro-Mechanical Processes at Soultz-sous-Forêts

Porosity and permeability alteration due to the thermo-poro-elastic stress field disturbance from cold fluid injection is a deciding factor for longer, more economic, safer heat extraction an enhanced geothermal system (EGS). In Soultz-sous-Forêts system, faulted zones are main flow paths, resulting porosity–permeability development over time reorientation sensitive in comparison with regions without zones. Available operational data combined through validated numerical simulation model examine mechanical impact on pressure temperature evolution. Results shows that near wellbore zones, porosity values strongly affected by changes, changes will affect overall of demonstrating fully coupled phenomenon. some inside close wellbores, doubles, whereas may be up 30 times. A sensitivity analysis performed using two parameters which not well discussed literature aspect, but results this study show one them impacts significantly changes. Further experimental works parameter help precisely than before.
